YouTube TV has announced another price increase, raising its monthly cost from $72.99 to $82.99, effective January 13, 2025. The company attributes this change to the rising costs of content acquisition and operational expenses. Despite the hike, YouTube TV highlights its unique offerings, such as unlimited DVR storage and multiview features, which enhance live TV viewing.
This decision follows a similar increase in March 2023 and has sparked backlash from subscribers. Many are considering switching to alternatives like Hulu Plus Live TV or Sling TV, which provide competitive rates. Hulu currently charges about $83 per month for over 90 channels, while Sling TV offers plans starting at $40 monthly.
YouTube TV remains confident in its value proposition, citing its broad on-demand library and live programming. However, with the competition offering varied pricing and packages, the platform faces pressure to justify its rising costs
