‘Only Murders in the Building’ star Da’Vine Joy Randolph on skincare, subtle bling and her secret to always looking svelte

Da’Vine Joy Randolph will be an EGOT winner. It’s just a matter of time. She already has a Golden Globe and an Oscar for her standout performance as Mary Lamb, a grieving mother and cafe worker, in The Holdovers. Her impressive range earned her a Tony nomination for her role as Oda Mae Brown in the Broadway production of Ghost: The Musical. And the scene-stealer received an Emmy nomination for her portrayal of Detective Donna Williams on the Hulu comedy Only Murders in the Building, which premiered its fourth season on August 27.

“Details of the show are under wraps,” Alexa Randolph, 38, tells him. “But I will say that Detective Williams is known for being a super-serious, tough detective, and this season we’re going to see her daughter in a new character.” (Something the star understands well. “Every day I push myself to work alongside such icons,” she says, referring to acting vets like Steve Martin, Martin Short and Meryl Streep.)

The Philly-born Yale School of Drama alum’s fashion game is as strong as her acting, wearing bespoke red carpet looks from Louis Vuitton, Rodarté, Zac Posen and Christian Siriano .

However, her true obsession? Glass. “I’ve lost track of how many pairs of sunglasses I have and I always have eye glasses (even though I don’t really need them),” she confesses. “When I was little, I would purposely fail my eye exams so my mom would buy them for me!”
